Neste Netherlands is part of the Finnish parent company Neste. The plant in Rotterdam produces renewable fuels. Together with 200 colleagues we are working everyday to operate, maintain, and improve the plant in an efficient and safe manner. 

 

We are looking for a Lead Design Engineer Mechanical to join the Engineering department in Rotterdam(Maasvlakte).

 

We are a multidisciplinary medium size team of experts working in all fields of industrial plant design. Our team executes investment and maintenance projects for our production facilities in the Netherlands, but we also support other teams, taking part in projects for Singapore and Finland.

Your main responsibilities in creating a sustainable future are

• Within your capability, take Lead Engineer's responsibility within challenging, rewarding and diverse international process industry projects.
• Act as a static equipment engineer and package equipment expert.
• Support engineering projects in accordance with your expertise.
• Share and develop your know-how and technical skills along with close collaboration with our own production facilities, global resources, and occasionally external clients.

 

You will work closely with other engineering disciplines, maintenance, and operations to ensure success of investment and maintenance projects. Our team is responsible for all project phases, from pre-studies to installation. We co-operate with different technology providers, support expediting and assist in commissioning phases in investment projects ranging from small to large. Our work combines accountability, cooperation, and the desire to develop and renew. Safety is a priority to all of us.

 

 

The best combination to success in this role

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Energy Engineering or comparable education
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering including pressure equipment, storage tanks and other industrial equipment engineering
• Experience in ASME BPVC, EN 13445, EN 14015, API (e.g. API 650 and relevant refinery instructions) and NACE standards
• Experience and knowledge of The Netherlands standards (e.g. PGS) and working with local regulations/authorities
• Knowledge in strength analysis, design and procurement of pressure equipment and storage tanks
• Knowledge of the European Pressure Equipment Directive, ATEX directive, and Machinery Directive
• Expertise in manufacturing processes and welding, technical expediting/auditing, NDT and site engineering
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills and fluent in English

• Knowledge in rotating equipment, piping/layout or thermal equipment
• Dutch language skills
• Willingness to travel
